⚠ Transparency notice: Product Call made multiple attempts to contact Figure AI directly for comment on this evaluation, including via their official website contact form and several email addresses. All direct email addresses tried resulted in immediate bounce-back responses indicating invalid addresses. Figure AI did not respond to any of our inquiries. Figure AI is arguably the most talked-about humanoid robotics company in the world right now. Founded in 2022 by Brett Adcock — who previously founded electric air taxi company Archer Aviation — Figure AI has attracted extraordinary investor confidence, raising over $2.6 billion and achieving a $39 billion valuation in September 2025. That valuation jump from $2.6 billion in just 18 months is a staggering figure, and one that deserves scrutiny alongside the company’s genuine achievements.

Figure AI has now produced three generations of humanoid robots: the original Figure 01, the industrial-grade Figure 02 deployed at BMW, and the newly unveiled Figure 03 which is designed for home use. This review covers both Figure 02 and Figure 03, examining what each genuinely delivers versus what the marketing promises.

All prices in USD. Figure AI has not publicly confirmed final pricing for Figure 03. The $20,000 figure is a widely reported target, not a confirmed retail price. No Australian distribution channel has been announced. Robot-as-a-Service pricing for Figure 02 includes hardware, software updates, maintenance, and support.

Figure 02 is Figure AI’s second-generation humanoid, designed specifically for commercial and industrial deployment. Its most significant public achievement is its deployment at BMW’s Spartanburg manufacturing plant, where it contributed to the production of over 30,000 vehicles. This is a genuine, verified real-world deployment — not a lab demo — and it is one of the most credible proof points in the entire humanoid robotics industry.

The robot originally shipped with AI models developed in partnership with OpenAI for speech-to-speech interaction. However, Figure AI has since replaced this with their own proprietary Helix AI system — a vision-language-action model that enables pixel-to-action learning, meaning the robot can adapt to objects and environments it has never encountered before. This is a significant technical advancement and a key differentiator from competitors.

Figure 02 contributed to the production of 30,000 cars at BMW — making it one of very few humanoid robots in the world with a verified, large-scale industrial deployment. This is a meaningful achievement that separates Figure AI from companies still operating purely in demo mode.

Figure 02 is not available for individual or consumer purchase. It is accessible only through Figure AI’s enterprise channels, with Robot-as-a-Service pricing of approximately $1,000 per robot per month. There is no Australian distribution channel, no consumer pathway, and no public pricing beyond the RaaS model.

Announced in October 2025 and named one of TIME Magazine’s Best Inventions of 2025, the Figure 03 represents a significant departure from Figure 02’s industrial focus. It has been reimagined for home use, featuring a softer aesthetic with knit-textile exterior coverings designed to feel less industrial and more suited to living environments.

The Figure 03 has demonstrated a range of household tasks including folding laundry, loading dishwashers, tidying bedrooms and living rooms, and navigating household environments. These demonstrations are impressive — but it is critical to note that CEO Brett Adcock himself has stated that broad consumer release requires the robot to be able to perform “most things in your home, autonomously, all day” before it ships widely. That bar has not yet been met.

⚠ Figure AI’s $39 billion valuation reflects investor confidence in the team and vision — not current consumer-ready capability. The Figure 03 is not available for purchase, has no confirmed price, no confirmed release date beyond “late 2026 limited deployments,” and no Australian distribution channel. Consumers should treat this as a near-future product, not something they can buy today.

✓ Positives

  • Verified real-world deployment at BMW — 30,000 cars produced
  • Helix AI is a genuinely advanced vision-language-action system
  • Figure 03 has impressive household task demonstrations
  • 5-hour battery life on Figure 03 — far superior to competitors
  • Wireless inductive charging via floor pad is innovative
  • 44 DOF and 16 DOF per hand — exceptional dexterity
  • 3-gram fingertip tactile sensitivity — world-leading
  • BotQ facility capable of 12,000 units per year
  • Named TIME Best Invention of 2025
  • 90% component cost reduction from Figure 02 to Figure 03

✗ Negatives

  • Figure 03 not available for consumer purchase
  • No confirmed price — $20,000 is a target, not a commitment
  • No Australian distribution or after-sales channel
  • Figure 02 enterprise-only via RaaS — inaccessible to most
  • Press and media contact details essentially non-existent
  • Figure AI did not respond to Product Call’s multiple inquiries
  • $39B valuation far outpaces current consumer-ready capability
  • Gap between impressive demos and reliable daily operation remains large
  • No confirmed languages for voice interaction disclosed
  • Timeline for broad consumer availability remains uncertain

Against its closest competitors, Figure AI sits in an interesting position — technically superior in many respects, but far less accessible. The Unitree R1, which Product Call reviewed previously, is available today for $5,900 USD. The Figure 03 targets $20,000 and won’t be broadly available until 2027 at the earliest. Tesla Optimus is similarly unavailable for consumer purchase. Agility Robotics’ Digit is enterprise-only at approximately $250,000. In terms of real-world AI capability and dexterity, Figure AI leads the pack — but for a consumer wanting to actually buy and use a humanoid robot today, Figure AI is not a realistic option.

⚖ Product Call verdict

Figure AI is doing genuinely impressive work. The Helix AI system, the BMW deployment, and the Figure 03’s household task demonstrations represent real technical achievement at the frontier of humanoid robotics. However, for consumers, Figure AI’s products remain firmly out of reach — not available for purchase, not publicly priced, and with no Australian presence whatsoever. The company’s $39 billion valuation is a bet on what Figure AI might become, not what it is today. The near-total absence of accessible press contact channels — which Product Call experienced first-hand when all contact attempts went unanswered — suggests a company focused entirely on enterprise and investor relations, with little regard for consumer transparency. Watch this space closely, but do not budget for a Figure robot in 2026.
